Texting is creative because, you can use different languages such as slang ect. When you are texting someone you can use words that you would not normally use when you are writing such as YOLO( which means you only live once). it is an example of a texting devise that has made its way back into spoken language and a significant reason for this is that it works as a word and sound distinctive.
The name of the language device used is slang. Slang is a language which lot’s of kids these days use, it is known for making words shorter such as yolo which mean you only live once.
Some examples
bare= very
blood= brother
fam= family or friend
lol= laugh out lound
dead= if someone said a joke and it was not funny the other person can say dead meaning the joke was not funny
ppl= people
So texting is creative because its quicker typing smaller words and people still understand and the language. It’s much different to normal writing can you can’t add those words into a writing book because the reader will not understand.

Your ideas are good Levi, and the example you chose is definitely a useful one.
What you need to do more is expand on what you’re saying.
When you refer to a language device, like slang, the best thing to do is then give an example of slang and then explain how that example supports the over-all point you’re making (in this case, the point is that text and spoken conversation is creative)
I really like your choice to use “yolo” as an example because it contains so much depth of language use. First it’s an initialism (an abbreviated word which is made from the first letters of the words it represents) – it’s also an acronym, because it can be said as a word – and then (as you have said) it has then shifted from text speak to spoken language because it’s a word and an idea that appeals to people.
(An older person might use the latin term ‘Carpe Diem’, which means ‘Seize the day’ – but another level that makes yolo interesting is that people also have begun to use it to suggest they’re going to do something irresponsible)
– Can you see how far you can go with one word to explain the creativity of this language
– have a read of my comment and you’ll see that each time I have:
1) Used an example
2) Named the language device used
3) Explored how this is a creativity thing
Try having a go with slang and see if you can expand your explanation in the same way.

Some of the examples you’ve used can be called slang – some should be called other things like initialisms or abbreviations. I look forward to working with you on this at lunchtime tomorrow.
Thanks for putting some time in
